BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•BA/BS degree and 7 years’ experience in REDD+, climate change, forest conservation and/or sustainable rural development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners.
• Experience in partnership development (partners, community, government, etc.).
• Supervisory experience.
• Fluency in English and Spanish
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The REDD+ Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the on-going performance of the M-REDD+ Program, including providing technical guidance and support to ensure the quality of M-REDD+ products and deliverables. S/he will also provide technical support to each of the components of the M-REDD+ program to help define objectives, identify opportunities, develop Terms of Reference, and facilitate coordination. S/he will be responsible for the collection and analysis of data for all program indicators, and will lead the annual and quarterly reporting in accordance with USAID requirements. S/he will develop and adjust results chains for the program as a whole as well as for each component.
The principle responsibilities of the position include:
• Support planning processes and adaptive management for the main components of M-REDD+, ensuring consistency with TNC’s global approach to REDD+, whole systems approach to conservation, business planning processes, and other TNC approaches
• Provide technical support to M-REDD+ Thematic Leads (Financial Architecture, MRV, Policy, Capacity Building, and Communication) by identifying existing tools and resources, helping define priorities, reviewing and revising ToRs, highlighting synergies across themes, helping avoid duplication of efforts, and facilitating joint implementation of activities across themes
• Review M-REDD+ products and deliverables to ensure quality
• Lead the preparation of the technical reports and annual work plans for M-REDD+ to USAID
• Lead project monitoring and management of project’s Performance Monitoring Plan (PMP)
• Design, develop and maintain a knowledge management system for the M-REDD+ program
• Support improved internal communications across the M-REDD+ program
